Kids Kamp At Cedar Hills

All last week we were out at Kids Kamp at Cedar Hills Campground. We had a great time. Here were some of the highlights.

  • Over 30 kids trusted Christ as Savior
  • I got to see alot of churches and pastors I haven't seen in a long time.
  • The recreation was as good as I've seen at a 10 and up camp. They had hayrides, water games, a mechanical bull, dunk tank, and inflatables.
  • Jason McGuire (Youth Pastor from Oklahoma City) had one of his kids sign me up for the dunk tank. Once it was announced I couldn't easily get out of it. I think the campers new I wasn't thrilled about the idea so the line tripled when it was my turn. Oh yes...I was dunked many, many times.
  • Collin stayed in the boys dorm for the first time. We both slept on the top bunk. I tried to talk him into the bottom but I was not successful. We pushed a couple bunks together and he referred to it as the cave.
  • Kevin George was the evening evangelist. I love to hear him preach. Ken Sibley preached during the morning and used illusions as object lessons to illustrate his sermon.
  • Marnie and I taught the 4th grade class.
  • All in all it was a great camp.
I have made fun of the campground in the past because going to camp in western Oklahoma is like having camp on the service of the sun because of the heat. That wasn't the case last week though. It rained one day and we really had great weather.

Here are some pictures and a video...
