Two teams went out on outreach today. In two different neighborhoods we knocked on about 130 doors. All in all it was a good day. We had some nice conversations with people. I'm hoping we can do it again next week.

Doug I have a ministerial question for you that I think you can give an informed answer about...I read somewhere that you will have a 10% return on invitations that are sent out (maybe in purpose driven church I read this). In this instance 13 indiviuals who recieved this invitation should show interest or even attend. Have you found this to be the case or is the number lower or higher?
bomb awesome job at texarkana!!!!!!
man up!!!!!!
Jason - My official answer is: It depends. I think the percentage I have heard is 1%.
When we blitzed neighborhoods before launch we had a GREAT response. Over 10 - 15 people showed up from just getting a flier on a door. We have not had that kind of response since.
On Sunday we had 1 new family in our service. They came in late and left early so I don't know if they came off of door to door outreach.
We have found on average it takes 6 weeks for someone we witness to/invite to get to a Sunday service.
Here is what we try to do. I use a football analogy because it is familiar:
1. Air Game - advertising, website, mailers, internet, radio, parades.
2. Ground Game - door 2 door outreach, apartment outreach, invite cards, neighborhood blitz, spontaneous conversations.
I don't know if this helps but that is what I know and what we do.
Here are a couple websites that might have some info www.withreach.com & www.outreach.com.
Nathan - Thanks for the encouragement. I wasn't sure how the sermon would be received. Good to talk to you for a few minutes on Friday.
