One thing I am always wanting to do is improve. I like things to be the best they can be. Below is a list of questions I went over with Jimmy last Sunday night. I didn't come up with most of these questions but I think it is a good place to start. Are there any questions you would add?
1. Were there too many or two few announcements?
2. Did the welcome accomplish the purpose?
3. Was the quality of the music appropriate?
4. Was the song selection appropriate and effective?
5. Did people seem to connect with the service?
6. Was the lobby welcoming and inviting?
7. Did it seem that people were greeted and welcomed?
8. Did kids check-in run smoothly?
9. Are there any distractions that need to be discussed?
10. Were there any small things overlooked?
11. Was the message and purpose clear?
12. Were there any portions that were ineffective and/or unnecessary?
13. Was a clear action step presented?
14. Were there any areas that were under prepared?
15. What did other people have to say in their responses?
16. Did setup and tear down go smoothly?

Rotator On Website
There have made some modifications to the rotator on the home page of lifepointowasso.com. There are 4 slides that rotate on this page. Slides are usually events that are coming up that you may want to know about. The change is that you can now click on these slides and it will bring you to a page that will tell you a little bit more about whatever is being announced on the slide. Not a big deal to many but I think it makes the rotator more functional and with one click help people can quickly find the information they want. It is still being tweaked but you get the idea.
Keep checking back because the website is going to see some more changes soon...

Sunday In Review
It was week 4 or the series on Jonah. Here is a snapshot.
- I preached Jonah 3:1-10. The sermon didn't flow as well as I would have liked. I prepared the sermon a little different than usual. Probably won't do that again.
- We had a rep from a video company in Tulsa with us running a video camera for us. The video looked really, really good.
- I could really hear people singing around me.
- A family that attended a FSN (First Sunday Night) a few months back was there for the first time Sunday morning.
- Met Jimmy at IHOP at 9:00 pm to talk about the next few months of outreach - lots of stuff on the horizon.

New Camera Demo Sunday
On Sunday, we will test-run a new piece of equipment. Since we began capturing video each Sunday, we have been using the Antaos' video camera. After talking to multiple sales reps and lighting/video engineers, we are moving towards making a purchase. There is a company in Tulsa that has gotten their hands on a Panasonic video camera that we can demo and see if we like. So check out the new video camera Brian will be running Sunday.
6 Reasons We Should Buy A Video Camera And Put Messages On The Website:
- It is one more way to share the gospel.
- It helps people get a feel for our church before their first visit.
- The "messages" page is the most visited page on our website.
- Brian Crockett needs something to do during the service. We don't want him to be bored.
- The setup team is always looking for more things to setup on Sunday mornings.
- If we keep using the Antaos' video camera, we may break it, and I'm scared of Barry when he's angry.

What Happened Next
What is the craziest situation you remember praying in?
I remember hitting a patch of ice on I-44 and as my truck was spinning right before I slammed into the cement embankment asking God to help me. I also remember being a little kid laying under a blanket with the rest of my cousins as the adults watched as two tornadoes were on the horizon. There was some series praying happening that night. You probably have some situations you remember, praying for God to intervene in the situation you were in. I think Jonah has us beat. He prayed in the midst of probably his worst nightmare. Jonah prayed while he was...yes you guessed it... IN THE FISH. This week we are going to look at Jonah 3 and see what happened next.
See You Sunday...

Serving Our Community
At Girl's Night (last night) they baked over 200 sugar and chocolate chip cookies. They put them in baskets and delivered them to the fire stations this morning. There were enough cookies to give to all 3 fire stations for all shifts. Way to go Girl's Night!!

Will Owasso Continue To Grow?
Here is an interesting article in the Tulsa World about Owasso's continued growth.
Thank You
I received an email this week from a church that is going to send us an offering to help with outreach. They are sending us $1100 to help us do a mailer that will go out in the next few months. I am so thankful for the churches, families and individuals who have partnered, prayed and encouraged us...I'm pumped!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Moved Blog Feed To Google
I moved my blog feed from feedburner over to google yesterday. Evidently google purchased feedburner and will make it mandatory within a certain amount of time. I hope this does not affect any one's ability to reads this blog through a subscription reader or email. I checked the feed today and subscriptions were down by 75%. Hopefully everything is just taking a while to go through. If you are not getting updates in your reader or email you may have to re-subscribe...sorry about that.
If anyone has any helpful info please let me know.

Sunday In Review
We are in week 2 of our series on Jonah. Here are some thoughts on the day.
- The song selection was great...I thought everyone sang out.
- Made some adjustments on lighting and video. I think it helped.
- I heard a kid in the elementary environment tell the friend that invited him, "This is awesome!!" I think he dug the idea of a church in the theater.
- I talked about what God did in Jonah 1:4-17 to get Jonah's attention. God may use a storm, circumstance, person, and the unexpected to get our attention.
- I left my microphone on after the welcome. I was belting out "I stand amazed" when Jimmy gave me a hand signal that my mic was still on...I don't think it was loud, but still embarrassing.
- We bought some new motion backgrounds to play behind the text on screen. They are around 5 minutes long and have several transitions built in. It looked much cleaner. I thought it made a big difference.
- A mom of one the kids in our preschool environment told me her daughter tracks her week by counting how many days until she gets to go to church. I love that!!
- Here is the video of the service if you missed it.

Tulsa 66ers Basketball Game
Marnie has started working at one of the colleges in Tulsa teaching adjunct this week. The professor got us some free tickets to the 66ers games last night. We had a great time!! During the game Collin and I told Marnie we were going to look at getting him a t-shirt. We called an audible and came back with this sweet OKC Thunder foam finger.

Sunday In Review
First Sunday of a new teaching series - Jonah. Here is a summary of the day.
- Several first time guest today. We had our first guest come to a Sunday service after coming to a Life Group with a friend. That's exciting. We also had a guest come after seeing some of our advertising.
- Lots of connection cards turned in.
- I gave some examples of the brutality Assyria (Nineveh) was known for...I think it got peoples attention.
- I used a map created from google earth to help give everyone a visual picture of where Jonah was supposed to go and where he tried to go.
- I did something different with the way we overlay text on video. I think it looks good...
- You can check out the service here.
- Someone coming to a movie came up to our preschool lead teacher and ask her about the preschool environment. She was also asked if there was anything for adults. So just being in the movie theater gets some conversations started.
- We had our FSN (First Sunday Night) gathering at the Hammond's House. I think a good time was had by all.
