- Miguel De Cervantes, Spanish Novelist

Sunday In Review

We had a great Sunday. Here are some thoughts:

  • It was the second week of a series through 1 John.
  • Preached about wrong ideas we have about sin.
  • We had some first and second-time guests.
  • It was a longer sermon than usual.
  • Everyone was reallying singing. Maybe the best song service yet.
  • I had suffered from allergies all week. My voice was barely there but I made it.
  • We added a backround motion during the welcome.
  • We have added a time during the first song where we invite everyone to say hi and shake hands. I think it is one of the best things we do now.
  • Here is a link to the sermon. You can now leave a comments on any of the messages on the website.
  • It was a great day.

Sunday In Review

We had a great Sunday. Here is a summary of the day:

  • We started a new message series in I John. I preached I John 1:1-4.
  • The first 3 verses in some way say the same thing in a different way. Can you find it...seriously see if you can find it...yes he says, "I've SEEN Jesus."
  • The articles I referred to in the sermon you can find here, and here.
  • I talked about the false teaching now and during the 1st century known as gnosticism.
  • We had some 1st-time guests.
  • The guy (Brian) who usually runs our sweet new camera was in western Oklahoma preaching...so we drafted Jordan from the setup team to run the camera and he did a great job.
  • We now have the setup team on a rotating schedule so everyone doesn't have to be there at 7:45 a.m. every Sunday.
  • I love having our service in the theater.
  • Here's the sermon in case you missed it.

Ouch

Have you ever experienced a day, few days or a week when life seems difficult. I've a had a couple of those days lately. I was reading Proverbs 24 today. I found this verse:

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. Proverbs 24:10

If you give up when it is difficult you are a person of little strength. Okay that hurt a little. God doesn't pull any punches. Straight to the point. If you give up you are weak....ouch.

Now that we have had this pep talk back to work...

Sunday In Review

We had a good Mother's Day yesterday. Here are a few thoughts about the day.
  • I preached from Proverbs 31:10-30
  • We talked about a Mom who loves Jesus. We looked at her marriage, energy, character, family, and strength.
  • We brought all the kids in during the music at the beginning of the service. Is was great to hear them singing.
  • Jimmy made one of his funniest one liners during the music.
  • We showed a video from Lifepoint Kids during the service...It was pretty funny. You can check it out below.
  • We gave away roses after the service.
  • We were missing some people that usually help tear everything down. I forgot how much stuff we move.

Mother's Day

Sunday is Mother's Day. Do something special for Mom...she deserves it.

Sunday we will be looking at Proverbs 31:10-31 - A Mom Who Loves God. Lifepoint Kids has put together a video for the Moms. Little kids telling us what they love about Mom. I'm sure there will be some surprises in there. See you Sunday.

Video We Used During Bailout Message Series

We used this video 3 weeks ago during our message series called Bailout. The sermon was about uncertainty. The video makes you think about how fast things are changing.
